Where is Buzios?

Buzios is 105 miles north east of Rio de Janeiro. It takes two hours to drive but there are also direct buses from Rio at least five times a day that are very cheap and reliable.

If you are travelling to Buzios direct from Rio International Airport, the owners at a small extra cost can arrange comfortable transport for you.

Ferradura Beach

A year-round temperature in the high 70s means that the sea is always warm enough to swim in.

The Place is merely 50 metres via a sandy, well-lit path to Ferradura Beach.

Ferradura Beach is one of the most exclusive beaches in Buzios as it lies in a perfect horseshoe bay with calm, aqua blue water.

To the left are a number of fine restaurants serving fresh fish and typical Brazilian dishes. The Place is located on the right of the beach, which has a more residential and lazier feel.

Other beaches within easy reach of The Place include Azeda Beach, a little gem you reach along a small trail or by boat; Joao Fernandes Beach where the bars serve great lobster; Tartaruga Beach which is a romantics hideaway; and the wider open Geriba Beach, frequented by a younger crowd and ideal for surfing and windsurfing.

There are so many beaches to choose from and each with their own character, but you may feel the comfort of your swimming pool is all you can reach after a long night out in Rua Das Pedras.
